Direct access hygienist

Under direct access, our Hhgienist can remove staining, tartar, plaque, bacterial deposits, and other debris and provide you with oral hygiene advice. She can also advise you on the progression of gum disease, however, more advanced conditions would need to be assessed by a dentist.

After seeing your dentist, she would then be able continue oral hygiene treatment under your dentist’s prescription.

Why dental hygiene is important

Failing to brush and floss your teeth twice a day can result in gum disease developing. This is when bacteria settles in the pockets of your gums and then hardens into a plaque. If left untreated this could form into a more serious condition called Periodontitis resulting in the loss of a tooth.

During your visit, our dental hygienist will remove the plaque and any light tooth stains before polishing your teeth to feel like new. You will also be shown how to keep your teeth and gums healthy as well as advising you on dietary advise if this is affecting your oral health.

If you are concerned about gum disease, losing a tooth or worried about bad breath then please contact our friendly team.

"As I have not been to a dentist in many years I was a bit apprehensive but the people at this dental practice were very understanding, compassionate and caring. I was able to put my concerns to them and received the best advice and dental care I have ever encountered.

Mr Patel and his team are fantastic and very knowledgeable and the resident hygenist (sorry I am terrible at remembering names) was a delight, exceedingly proficient and very re-assuring. All in all it was a great experience."
