Gum Care & Preventive Dentistry in Chessington, Surrey

Gum disease is the main cause of tooth loss in adults. Maintaining good oral hygiene will help keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Preventing tooth decay and gum problems is always better than cure. At Mouth Road Dental Surgery we recommend visiting our dental hygienist at least every six months. With regular oral hygiene check-ups, we will be able to asses the health of your teeth and gums.

Failing to brush and floss your teeth twice a day can result in gum disease developing. This is when bacteria settles in the pockets of your gums and then hardens into a plaque. If left untreated this could form into a more serious condition called Periodontitis resulting with the loss of a tooth.

During your visit, our hygienist will remove the plaque and any light tooth stains before polishing your teeth to feel like new. You will also be shown how to keep your teeth and gums healthy as well as advising you on dietary advise if this is affecting your oral health.
